Want to get-away-from-it-all … you can’t get further way and still be in California !!! Sitting on the forest edge of the San Gorgonio Wilderness sits this unique Recreational Use Cabin originally built in 1938. Rustic on the inside and outside, it features many windows to view the majesty of the forest outside, the primary attraction of mountain cabins. The site consists of 2 separate buildings … the main cabin and the guest sleeping quarters. The main cabin comes with a modernized kitchen with a propane range set on a wall of windows out into the forest beyond plus a big separate eating area with its own wood burning stove for heat. The main living room also has an even larger wood burning stove. The stunning master bedroom is a sight to behold in the warmer months because it is surrounded with windows that invite the sunlight in to give the wood walls and ceiling their warm golden glow. Beautiful! . Beside the 2nd bedroom there is a Den could be a 3rd Bedroom. SCE provides power and the 2 wood burners provide the heat in winter. Water is provided via a big water tank. The lot all of this sits on is a large area with no immediate neighbors in front or behind the San Bernardino National Forest is your only other neighbor. Little creeks meander among the cabins in the Barton Flats Tract of cabins. In winter the paved Barton Road is plowed by the County to make access in the snowy months much easier. Of course this cabin sits on U. S. Forest Service Land on a 20 year special use permit. Since you would own the cabin but not the land be aware that financing is unavailable, the exterior portion of the cabin may not be changed in any way without Forest approval and permanent residency is prohibited and Air B&B’s use is not allowed.
